Hey guys, I'm looking for a quad suitable for the 200cc 2stroke and 300cc 4stroke class, I've already got a quad but its getting too small both in size and power. There are some obvious choices like the blaster or even the new raptor 250 but is there anything else out there thanks

I think you should go for the 250 raptor or even go a second hand 350 raptor they are good reliable bikes with reverse (and rev is a very good thing) you can just idle around or they have got a good bit of speed in them.. i would stay away from 2 strokes when there are so many strokes out there. thats my 50cents

If your going to race in the 200-300cc class Juniors 12 -U 16yrs
I would def suggest the blaster as thats what all the other kids race... a 350cc is out of class and cant compete.
The 250cc Raptor is still a little unknown, sure we will find out come the first race meet of the season, or as the season progresses, but does slot into this class.

thanks for the advice Bethwyn, i guess the Raptor would be better in the corners thanks to better a suspension set up and chassis but being a new quad the price would be a bit too much, for me anyway. oh and i did some googleing and found a ds250 (liquid cooled 4stoke but auto ) and had a look at the trx250ex which (is really a 230) looks gross and i imagine it would be like riding a sack of potatoes. but then i had a look at the promising trx300ex! out of everything thats been mentioned i would choose this, unless I've missed something really important. yes i know the blaster is cheap, has plenty of parts and so on but something different would be nice. and if you have a look in the January ATV Action on page 42, on the left, in the middle pic, there is a Raptor 250 in the nationals, looks stock too. thanks again

Trx300ex are only available ex the USA new if you can find a good second Trx300 grab it, and the Raptor 250 isn't to badly priced, give me a call 0428 888 287 at Northcity Yamaha Joondalup on Saturday Morning and I will give you a good price on a new one. We have been testing the new 250 raptor and we know what aftermarket parts fit this quad from the Blasters

Few years ago someone told me only 22 300EX's came into WA in 1996... We do have one a 1996 TRX 300EX and its excellent, would be even better if we spent some money on it ! You see them around the place all the time, and occasionally one for sale. But both kids raced the blasters(at coastal) not at woodridge. Occasionally they would ride the 300 if a blaster was out of action, as did my husband when his 450 was out of action. Not sure what sort of a mix of Junior bikes head up to Woodridge these days. Come down to Summercross at Coastal Park February 22nd Friday evening and take a look.
