For the guys that are asking, yes you can rock up on the Sunday morning with your partner and ride. You don't have to be a member to ride, just costs $10 bucks more per rider if your a non member ($50 each rider for adults).
Most important - be there early! If you miss the riders briefing you can't ride. Aim to be at the track by 7.30am or earlier.
When you get to the track, go see whoever is doing the entry forms and fill them out and hand over the quids, you will get a team number. There are three classes for teams, if you haven't ridden there before go for Clubman or Expert, depending on your riding ability.
If you don't have a partner they will try and find you one on the day, or you can ride in Ironman class, which is by yourself (hard work!).
The track is about 24 k's or so for a lap, takes around 20 minutes for a lap (not for the Pro's, but for us mere mortals!). You ride for two hours in the morning, lunch break, then two hours in the afternoon. Teams that have completed the most number of laps in the quickest time win.
Yes, you do a lap, come back to the pits, then your partner goes out. You have a quick break, refill your bike, grab a drink etc, then wait for your partner to come back, then your off again.
It's a good fun day, you ride at your own speed yet still feel like your racing. If you haven't done one before, make sure you do, you will have a ball.
Hope that helps.
