Keep this date aside for our 1st Pony Express for the Year. Its only 3 weeks away now !! You can pre register your spot via the website to ensure you get a start. More details to come very soon. Anyone who has any queries throw them in here so we can help you out. Track will be the blue/purple/green from below image The pony can be run as a team of two or solo (ironman). There are multiple classes and the winner is the team to complete the most laps in the time limit (usually 4 hours, may be shortened to 3 this year stay tuned on that one).

Nothing solid on the 3 hour just yet Jimmy. Its something being thrown around to try to get more people to finish thats all. Looking back at the results a lot of people pull out in the last hour Its either that or we run it earlier so we finish prior to any lunch breaks. maybe we should run a poll on it?...... PLEASE VOTE IN THE POLL AT THE TOP OF THIS THREAD

big fan of the no lunchbreak. whether it be a 3 or a 4 hour doesn't really matter. the whole point of em though is it shows who can hold on for the full time. not meant to be a walk in the park

Murph - last year was the first year we had a lunch break, prev years there wasnt one, we had the lunch break to promote social activity mid race amongst and to make some money via the canteen to cover the track prep costs and other misc costs
Jimmy - the 3 hour proposal was voted in by last years committee after we looked at the amount of people who pulled out in the last hour of all 3 of last years PE's i still think 3 hours is hard, like you said if its not, then people can go ironman
All open to discussion of course. decision to be made this wednesday.
Dammit, computer auto logged on as MEL this post was by Teeroy, haha PEBKAC moment

im pretty sure the three hour ponies idea was only floated last year and neither accepted or rejected but something left for consideration by the committee this year.
I still think the four hour is prob the way to go as it does make it a challenging event which is what a pony express should be. by removing the lunch break you also make the day shorter and allows rides to remain in the swing of the event rather than stopping for an hour in the middle of the day and then having to find their rhythm again after the lunch break

Lunch should be half hour prob coz laps are bout 20mins so by tIme rider comes in before lunch he gets. Out 50 mins break same with other rider after lunch

Sorry to clarify i meant there wasnt a "stop racing" type lunch break, i could be wrong there but thats what we saw and have heard along the way, apologies if im wrong there but no biggy anyway.
