Had a few people asking the question yesterday about the upcoming Poker Run. ATVWA have never run one before so i thought id drop this in here as a quick guide for those who are a bit curious.
A poker run is an organized event where participants must visit five to seven checkpoints, drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. The event has a time limit, however the participants are not timed—winning is purely a matter of chance.
its a social ride day with the intent of having Dads, mums and kids follow each other around the various tracks we have without racing. Once done we will have a bit of a club gathering/party to have some time to meet and great members and non members and promote the social aspect of our club as when were racing its a little hard to do so.
Anyone who may be willing to provide any form of prize wether it be large or small please PM me, theres 1 major prize to be put up but theres a few other prizes that we can offer of a smaller nature. Anyone looking to provide the major prize will have naming rights for the day and it will be the ATVWA ........ Poker Run
More info will come later. Any queries throw them at me on here or via PM if you wish to be discrete about the potential prizing Cheers

Troy after looking at the newly updated calender on WAQuad Mx, it would seem as though there are a few perth races on the same weekend as the poker run, it might be easier to have it the weekend before as there are less local events on, plus i'll be here , have a look and let us all know what you want to do, this is your event. cheers Bill

I will be skiing that weekend in Mt Buller, Victoria Hmm seems quite a few events that weekend, a change of date is possible for it, review of dates around it keeping in mind Pony Express 3 is 6 weeks after this event, dont want it too close to that one. To be discussed at next committee meeting (which needs to be locked in with enough notice for all to attend) I suggest the Monday the 18th July at the ATVWA Headquarters (lets see who knows where that is! can we even access it anymore for those that know)
