Hi bill nice to get a fresh face at the helm Just a couple of small points I personally can’t make the first pony express On the 8th of May because I am in the flower business and those are my two busiest week Of the year for me, but that’s ok. But the fact is the 8th of May is mother’s Day and everybody has a Wife, Mother and grandmother, that need some appreciation. Once that all sorted the riders could potentially have a very dusty track. Going on the past ten years of records we get very little rain in the first week of May. if there Is no rain would you potentially postpone. Thanks paul

Hello Paul, these dates were set at a committee meeting in which the public is more than welcome to come too, i didn't realise it was mothers day but thank you for that, Maybe we could have a mothers day breakfast at the track and the mothers can come watch there kids race.
At this stage there will be no cancellation of dates and we will prep the track to suite conditions, we have a new track manager with a lot of desert racing experience so i'm sure he will have safety on top of his mind. We are tyring to secure more land for our Pony Express Series and with that less dust and zig-zag effect. If you want to give us a call about it feel free, the more riders that put in the better.
Cheers Bill 0427020511

there's nothing wrong with a bit of dust Bill. Thats the way it goes. For those heading to some of the desert races this year itll be good practice in dealing with it. I can guarantee that the didnt wait till there was no dust a gassy dash last year to hold the race and im sure its pretty bad at finke too. who is the track manager by the way?
having said that though there should be some sort of tie in to mothers day on the first pony round

What funny is that there were 3 mothers at the meeting who all agreed to the date hahaaha one was my wife, she will have a sad when i tell her hahhahaha! However i think we can do something special for the Mums on this day, lets face it the alternate is going to a poxy picnic with cheese and crackers haha just kidding, we love all the mums........(mass restaint from making Mum jokes applied here) One for the committtee to discuss for sure.

Bill will have to confirm but...Chopper is still on the committee but Streeto has accepted the position after it was made vacant by Mike for reasons unconfirmed (too much work i think it was). His time is hard to get as he works 6 days and likes to enjoy some time to himself and family A Massive effort from him over the past few years has been sensational and he has a great wealth of knowledge to be shared with the new committee. We're glad hes still involved & also happy for him to ride up the back of the bus instead of driving all the time as he's having a well earned break from it all. Hes kinda having sabbatical leave from it. Hes still around and he will be back have no doubt. I do think hes lost his keyboard though coz he hasnt posted for a while (hint)

Troy nailed it on the head, with Mikes business doing so well it was hard to peel him away from it, So he has stood back for the moment to spend some quality time with his family but is still a valued committee member as his knowledge and efforts in the past will not be forgotten.
Our new track manager comes with a wealth of knowledge in the field so we will still have a good pony express series, we are looking to do an Early Birds Rego so keep an eye out and get in asap so we can organize a quality event for everyone, The divisions will depend on numbers, As said previously, Quad Parts, Power Sports WA, and Now we also have Bunnings as Sponsors for the Series.
Cheers Bill

hmmm...item for committee meeting for sure. if we got mothers day and AJS then we may need to alter our schedule for Pony Series Race 1. Given its 8 weeks away i think we have time to change it but MUST be confirmed via the committee first. Im thinking 22 May from looking at my schedule, who knows what else is on that day? IS THIS A BETTER OPTION?

after a small meeting today with 5 of the committee members it was a unanimous decision to change the first pony date to the 22nd of May, i hope this doesn't conflict with anyone's dates as this is the last change. Sorry for any confusion.
Cheers Bill
