Hey Mark.
The whole idea of it is to ride in pairs. (Some events allow for an ironman class which is single bike/rider)
Basically you team up with a friend and take turns in riding laps until the time runs out. Fastest overall team time wins..
Thats the basics.

That depends on who is running it mate. Tracks are generally 20 to 30 kms long and you can encounter anything from partial mx tracks, sand, rocks, tight trails and even mud. Again it really just depends on the event. However I think the ATVWA ponies are mainly run on the track marked in blue on the pic below.

Hey Mark,
The pony can be run as a team of two or solo (ironman). There are multiple classes and the winner is the team to complete the most laps in the time limit (usually 4 hours).
ATVWA events are commonly run over about 30kms of track as indicated on the map by the blue (North Pony) and green (South Pony) lines with the two sections being connected by the MX track (purple). The last two ponies at ATVWA however included a section of track on a neighbouring property. The exact details for the coming Pony Express have not been decided yet though more details will be released following the coming Poker Run.
